Dear Members of the IIAS Community,
It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to two remarkable individuals who have played pivotal roles in the success of the International Review of Administrative Sciences (IRAS) – Andrew Massey, the editor-in-chief since 2013, and Catherine Humblet, the esteemed journal manager since 1983.
Andrew's tenure, spanning over a decade, has been marked by exceptional leadership, dedication, and a commitment to advancing the field of public administration. Taking over from Christopher Pollitt, Andrew has steered IRAS to new heights, fostering its growth in strength, coverage, and scientific integrity. As Andrew steps aside on December 31, 2023, we want to express our deepest gratitude for his outstanding contributions to the journal and the International Institute of Administrative Sciences.
During Andrew's leadership, IRAS has expanded its reach globally, reflecting a diverse array of perspectives, methodologies, and philosophies. His collaborative spirit and dedication to fostering international cooperation have played a crucial role in the success of IRAS.
In tandem with Andrew, Catherine Humblet has been the driving force behind the scenes, serving as the journal manager. Catherine's unwavering commitment, exceptional organizational skills, and dedication to excellence have been instrumental in the smooth functioning and success of IRAS.
With deep gratitude, we extend our best wishes to Andrew Massey and Catherine Humblet as they pass the baton to the next generation and new leadership. May the journal continue to thrive and make significant contributions under new guidance, building upon the foundation laid by Andrew, Catherine, and their predecessors, contributing to IIAS’ mission of improving public governance research, education, and practice.
